I'm a fan of folks that actually HAVE talent out there and it's ALWAYS good to hear someone with a GOOD voice that I'm NOT sick and tired of hearing on the radio waves. I don't actually know how I ended up checking out this YouTube video (or should I say "video's") because it was linked to JIZZ IN MY PANTS...I sh** you not my friend. But I'm a bit confused. He delivers everything as if he's doing a standup act, but then he's not telling jokes, it's just like having an exaggerated conversation with someone that you don't really know that well. Or I should say THEY'RE exaggerated. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I feel like I should help him by sending him material to present so he can actually be funny. I'd REALLY LOVE to have your feedback on what your reaction to this kid is.

Periodically I question if a trip is in super-duper need, or if I can make it through another week of work in DC and all that comes with it. Well that mini get-away seems to be coming in need. I just found out through TravelZoo.com that there is a awesome deal going down at this new Boutique Hotel in the heart of BK!!!

This place is not only AWESOME looking and only two blocks from the subway, BUT, they have these exclusive deals that are poppin' up right and left that look re-donk-ulous (in a good way). Hammacks are involved (you know how I feel about having one of those in a hotel room.....why haven't other folks thought about this yet?). With this deal for February only costing $99 for a night (compared to $200, which is what it normally is), this is an AWESOME SPOT and DEAL!!! No I'm not getting paid to write about this, I just honestly think that this is an awesome deal and folks should get up on it if it's still around...especially with it being Valentines Day around the corner.

AN IMPORTANT DAY, ESPECIALLY DURING THIS TIME

I'm sitting here in my office on MLK DAY...wondering WHY I am here with 5 other people out of 150 people that work out of these radio stations. So wrong and today will be a cleaning up/ CATCHING up kinda day. Too bad I don't have off, but since I don't, I had to share some awesomeness that I found on the FINE gentlemen that is hung in a picture frame on my wall at my apartment who is the reason for this day.

A great woman has just shared a cover that one of my favorite groups of the moment "The Bird and the Bee" (who I saw open for Lily Allen back in 2007 at 930 Club in DC) perform.....such an amazing group. They sound like they belong in a 1960's soundtrack for Austin Powers or something, that's their style if you aren't familiar with them. Anyways, they did a Rhianna cover for "Please don't Stop the Music"

SAY WORD SON!??? Yeah man, they have a very Bjork style when they do this, but it's still worth it. Obviously the person who wrote the blog before me that posted this song wasn't as BIG of a fan of theirs as I have been, but I don't care...I'm still all about it. Another AMAZING artist SIA has also done a cover of one of Britney Spear's songs GIMME MORE.....

Hey folks, so I know that I work for a radio station and all, but GOOD GOD, nobody gave me the memo on what douchebags some of our stations clients can be. Demanding little bastards. With this new found knowledge and experience I've decided to list my recomendations of IMPROVEMENT to these "people" who act like their sh** don't STANK up this place:

1) If you work in California and you've been working with clients on the east coast, please respect our TIME ZONE difference, especially if you have worked at this place for 3 plus years and are STILL playing the "dumb" card with not knowing when I leave for the day. It's been 5:30PM EST since anyone at this place has started, stop playing DUMB B****, before you start to wear 3 shoes...TWO ON YOUR FEET AND ONE UP YO A**!!!

2) If you expect someone to do something for you, please expect that person to need something from you in return. Stop acting greedy. If there's a report that you do for someone to help them out, then if I ask you to help me out with something in return, make some F***ing time to handle it, or else you'll be wearing 3 shoes...TWO ON YOUR FEET AND ONE UP YO A**!!!

3) Just because I ate lunch with you one time doesn't mean that I'm your lunch buddy from here on out. There needs to be an understanding that if I work with you, I'm NOT trying to be your friend or buddy. It's strictly about business for me, so if you don't comply with that, then you will probably only be the one getting hurt and you have no one to blame but yourself. Also, if you can't handle it then handle the third shoe UP YO A**!!!!

COPS MAKE ME SICK....

My roommate wrote this best and shared this bit of news with me that I quickly shared with others. Now I know that everything is a case by case situation, but I would like to state for the record that myself, my family and MANY others don't trust the police and probably never will. That's just the way the cracker crumbles for me...PERIOD. Here's something that just backs up my reasoning:

OAKLAND SHOOTING

A public execution-style murder of Oscar Grant occured at an Oakland BART (metro/subway) stop by the BART police on New Years. Since then the bay has been on edge, understandably. To my family in the bay, I want to let you know that I'm with you in spirit, strength, and peace. Obviously, there is a deep history of police brutality in this country-- esp towards people of color. And, so while I didn't know him personally, I pray for peace for Oscar and his family... and his 4 year old daughter... and all the people who made him who he is, and all the people who's lives he touched. And I also pray for peace and justice and to stop the brutality and the hate and the rage that drives anyone to treat another human being in this manner. Please, spread the word about this to your friends and family so that Oscar Grant is not forgotten. Injustice cannot be forgotten or ignored without creating more injustice. So don't let this be silenced into something that 'just happenned somewhere else'... this has been, could have been, and will be our block if we turn our eye.

I got Transgender on the mind...

WHY, you might be asking yourself....good question, here's my answer. I was watching last nights premiere episode of the REAL WORLD which has cast it's first Transgender cast member. In addition to that, I was watching a clip from Chelsea Lately and Brett Michael's was the guest and was talking about three actresses who he believes has transgender features (face-wise etc.). Sarah Jessica Parker,...which my dad would quickly agree with, he's a TRUE HATER of her. The other two were Tara Reed (of course, what a mess she is), as well as Tari Hatcher......sorry if I spelled all three of those ladies names wrong, but I don't actually care how they're names are spelled. They don't hold value in my life.

Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm and then quickly agree.

Well think about it and then watch the interview with the pictures they've provided. But back to the REAL WORLD. So I watched last nights first episode and let me just tell you, you know I visit NYC all the time and have MANY friends that live in BK, but I'm not sure if this season REAL WORLD will grab me. Not because I like to watch AWFUL TV shows on the regular, or mostly brilliant comedies.....BUT, because there's nothing I can learn from this besides the transgender cast member Kaitlyn. Everyone else is (how should I put this nicely), typical. They're just another group of faces that I will soon forget.
